Autumn Wine dinner29 May
Australia’s climate is changing — and so is the way we grow, make and enjoy wine.
With longer summers and drier, milder winters increasingly resembling Mediterranean conditions, Australian winemakers are looking beyond the traditional noble varieties such as Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, and turning their attention to grapes better suited to our evolving landscape.
Across the country, a new wave of forward-thinking winemakers is exploring renowned and lesser-known Mediterranean varieties from Italy, Spain and Portugal — grapes with resilience, character and a natural affinity for warmer, drier growing conditions.
Join us for a special four-course wine dinner, where Nick Dodds from Vintage Wine Company and Ash Ratcliffe from Ricca Terra Wines will guide us through these exciting varieties, comparing them with more traditional Australian wines and sharing the stories behind this shift in modern winemaking.
Each course will be matched with wines and paired with beautiful food from the South Beach kitchen.
